Electronic payments and e-money: Belgian, French and European legal framework
by Etienne Wery
Electronic payments and e-money are definitely part of our day-to-day life.
This book analyzes the Belgian and French legal framework applicable to both of them.
The author goes beyond the sole analysis of the actual framework: Indeed, Europe is actually living the first hours of a revolution with the SEPA project (Single Euro Payment Payment Area). Purpose is to make in the electronic payment world what was done a few years ago with paper-money and coins. The book analyzes both technical and legal aspects of this brand new upcoming legal framework.
One of the aims of SEPA is to bring more competition in the payment and banking sector. Therefore, the author also analyzes the condition to access this market and the way it is regulated, including the way the future “payment service providers” shall be regulated.
Eventually, the book has a chapter on the legal framework applicable to financial services at a distance.
The book is written in French.
